Sweetened Highland Lilt

Ingredients

  • Blended Scotch Whisky - 2 oz
  • Fresh lemon juice - 3/4 oz
  • Spicy honey-ginger syrup - 1/2 oz
  • Single Malt Scotch (Islay) - 1/2 oz
  • Candied ginger with a dash of cayenne and smoked paprika - 1 piece
  • Ardbeg rinse - Rinse the glass
  • Ice - Cubes
  • Orange bitters - 1 dash

Steps

  • 1. Rinse the rocks glass with Ardbeg and empty out the excess.
  • 2. Add blended Scotch, lemon juice, spicy honey-ginger syrup, and orange bitters to a shaker and fill with ice.
  • 3. Shake well and strain into the Ardbeg-rinsed glass filled with ice.
  • 4. Float the single malt Scotch on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon.
  • 5. Garnish with a piece of candied ginger sprinkled with cayenne pepper and smoked paprika.
